Technopreneur Program

Purpose

To develop a team of experts within NDI who possess broad technical knowledge encompassing NDI's systems, their design and manufacture, as well as an understanding of and experience with NDI customers.

Process

Technopreneurs receive specialized, experience-based training through a series of individualized job rotation assignments through various functions within NDI.

Participants can rotate through any of the following areas:

The sequence for, and duration of, each rotation is based on the individual as well as the business needs or projects within the department at that time.

Each Technopreneur's program is targeted to last a minimum of two years and not greater than three years. The duration of any one rotation varies. Some rotations are as short as two months, while others extend to nine months.

Once a Technopreneur has completed their program, they are placed in a senior technical role in a functional department where they have the opportunity to do the following:

  1. share their knowledge with others on the team;
  2. participate in complex, system-wide projects;
  3. respond to critical issues that may arise with a product (fire fight).

Guidelines

Applicants to the program are selected by a committee based on the following criteria:

  1. Minimum of two years of service with NDI.
  2. Has demonstrated the following:
    1. commitment to NDI's values
    2. team player
    3. drive and ambition
    4. technical aptitude
    5. scientific or mathematical aptitude
