1984
- Introduction of NDI's first commercial spatial measurement solution, the WATSMART System. This product was used primarily in the
study of biomechanics research. The WATSMART was discontinued in 1990 with the introduction of the Optotrak. Technical support for
existing customers is still available and many of these systems continue to be in active use.

- NDI began research and development into spatial measurement systems.
