NDI Launches Plug and Play Optical Tracker at Control 2008

WATERLOO, CANADA – April 18, 2008: At the 2008 Control show in Stuttgart, Germany (22nd April 2008 – 25th April 2008, booth #7120, hall #7), NDI will unveil a series of new OPTOTRAK PROseries innovations for portable metrology. Visitors will see the new plug and play Optical Tracker, which requires no external controller and plugs directly into a laptop USB port. The rapid set up and lack of clutter make armless, wireless, and beamless shop-floor measurement even more convenient.
NDI will also demonstrate the incredible ScanTRAK Advanced Handheld Laser Scanning Solution, which combines the power of optical measurement with large volume, point-cloud laser scanning. ScanTRAK is a complete inspection and reverse engineering solution that addresses a full range of shop-floor applications, including quality assurance, tooling and assembly verification.
Ideal for scanning large parts, ScanTRAK's ability to seamlessly switch faces allows operators to approach, scan, and touch-probe from almost any angle, dramatically improving measurement throughput. The ScanTRAK bundle includes NDI’s Optical Tracker, an integrated Multi-Sided Probe (MSP), a Perceptron V5 sensor, plus an available laptop computer and PolyWorks® advanced point-cloud analysis software.
Presenters will also show the benefits of powerful 6DOF motion tracking (standard with all NDI OPTOTRAK measurement systems), including some of the many advanced testing and custom manufacturing applications made possible by this ability.
