Perceptron ScanWorks V5 Laser Scanner Integration

WATERLOO, CANADA – May 7, 2007: The Perceptron ScanWorks® V5 laser scanner has been successfully integrated with the OPTOTRAK® PROseries Advanced Measurement System, a natural innovation made possible by the flexibility of NDI’s Multi-Sided Probe (MSP).
The integration of Perceptron’s premier laser scanner with NDI’s MSP has produced a powerful hand-held tool for surface scanning that does not suffer from mechanical restrictions or beam break issues. By itself, the MSP provides unrestricted freedom of movement for contact probing. When attached to the V5, the MSP allows operators to approach and scan parts from almost any angle.

Operators can now quickly attach the MSP to the V5 and begin scanning with no need for time consuming calibration. The MSP can also be detached for touch probing applications. The end result, said Clausen, is a truly "all-in-one" portable metrology system that already sets a new benchmark for real-world performance and usability.
