Ready-To-Use Tools
Ready-to-use tools reduce integration efforts and enable rapid application development. These medically-designed tools incorporate all sensor, cabling, enclosure, connection, and firmware components required for tracking.
Ready-to-Use tools include: Multi-Purpose Tools and Development Tools for Minimally-Invasive Interventions
Aurora Multi-Purpose Tools
The following multi-purpose tools provide the basic functions common in many tracking and computer-assisted applications.
Auora 6DOF Probe, Straight Tip
The Aurora 6DOF Probe is a general purpose digitizing probe with a rigid 65 mm straight metal tip. OEM customization of the metal tip length and shape is also possible when required for specific applications.
The probe offers the following features:
- 6DOF tracking information
- Two integrated user push buttons
- Green LED indicator - configurable by application software
Dimensions: 65 mm tip length
Sterilization: Designed to survive 20 autoclave cycles
Aurora 6DOF Reference Tool, 25 mm Disc
The Aurora 6DOF Reference Tool, 25 mm Disc is a general purpose tracking reference tool that allows for many fixation methods. The flat PEEK disc incorporates three reamed holes for precise fixation. The tool can also be secured with adhesive strips for temporary fixation. The waterproof disc also contains a green LED that indicates the tracking status of the tool.
Dimensions: 25 mm diameter x 5 mm thick
Sterilization: Designed to survive 20 autoclave cycles
Aurora 5DOF Flexcord
The Flexcord is a robust, generic tracking tool designed for researchers or OEM customer evaluation and prototyping. The tool contains a 5DOF sensor located at the tip of a flexible 1.2 m plastic tube. At 2.1 mm in diameter the tube can support many applications including placement inside the working channel of a surgical instrument.
Dimensions: 2.1 mm diameter x 1.2 m long
Sterilization: None
Aurora 6DOF Cable Tool
The cable tool is also designed for researchers or OEM customer evaluation and prototyping. This tool contains a 6DOF sensor at the tip of a flexible 2 m shielded cable. The cable has a silicone outer jacket which is robust, easy to handle and able to withstand up to 20 autoclave cycles. This is a very robust, multi-purpose tool.
Dimensions: 2.5 mm diameter x 2 m length (Sensor is 11 mm in length)
Sterilization: Designed to survive 20 autoclave cycles
