More than 800 of the world's leading biomedical imaging scientists will gather in Brisbane, Australia for MICCAI 2007. Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) is a conference exploring the latest developments in medical imaging, robotics and computer-assisted therapies. The conference is attended by world-leading researchers, including scientists, engineers and clinicians. Additional participants are invited from the health industry, government, information technology sector and related service industries.
This year, the MICCAI conference heads 'down under' to Austrailia and will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 29th to November 2nd. The conference will be an international first in medical imaging for Australia.
For many years, MICCAI has been recognized internationally as the most prestigious event in its area.
Among the goals of this year's conference are improving communication between scientific disciplines, making state-of-the-art methodology accessible to clinicians and bio-scientists, and helping basic scientists understand the detailed requirements in different clinical and bioscience applications. MICCAI 2007 will have a stronger focus on certain areas of contemporary importance including microscopy and molecular imaging, thereby broadening the scope of content and expertise.
"Ground-breaking research, presented by renowned experts from around the world, is a MICCAI hallmark," said David Rath, Director, NDI Medical Business Unit. "NDI continues its commitment to this valuable research focused conference by once again sponsoring MICCAI - this year as a platinum sponsor. NDI is honoured to be a long-time supporter of this conference and the innovation it represents in computer-assisted therapies."
NDI is a strong supporter of research conferences and forums dedicated to innovation in the areas of computer assisted therapies and surgical procedures. NDI regularly participates in international conferences like MICCAI to gain advanced research knowledge on top of its own, in order to identify new clinical areas of focus. NDI technology and research is already very prevalent within the Australasian market. NDI has a regional office located in Hong Kong that actively supports research, clinical and commercial customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
