NDI to Exhibit at RSNA 2009

November 10, 2009

WATERLOO, Canada -- NDI (Northern Digital Inc.), a world-leader in 3D measurement technology for medical, industrial and research applications, is pleased to announce it will be exhibiting at the 95th Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Scientific Assembly and Annual meeting, being held in Chicago November 29 - December 4, 2009. NDI will be in Booth #2536. Displays at the NDI booth will include both the Aurora Electromagnetic Tracking System and the Polaris family of optical measurement systems.

NDI Measurement Solutions in Medical"With a long history as a leading supplier in the field of computer-assisted surgery, NDI continues to seek out new opportunities for our technology in various medical fields," commented Dave Rath, V.P. Medical Division at NDI. "We are excited to be exhibiting this year at RSNA as many of the medical sub-specialties represented here continue to recognize the benefits that navigation, motion-tracking and GPS-like technology can bring to their specific applications."

NDI's Aurora Electromagnetic Tracking System can be used to track the tips of flexible medical instruments commonly used in interventional radiology procedures. The system allows tools to be tracked while inside the body, with no line-of-sight restrictions using miniaturized sensors. NDI will also be displaying exciting new OEM offerings of electromagnetic (EM) sensors and tracking tools for use with the Aurora System. The Aurora supports a full line of low-cost, miniature sensor assemblies with outer diameters as small as 1 French. They also demonstrate the flexibility inherent in the Aurora platform and the ability for NDI to work with customers to design custom systems.

Also on display at the NDI booth will be the Polaris Spectra and Polaris Vicra position sensors. NDI's Polaris Spectra and Polaris Vicra use optical measurement and are designed for integration into medical solutions. These two products have been widely adopted for use in computer-assisted therapy applications, such as joint arthroplasty, radiation therapy, neurosurgery and ergonomic studies.
