Role Summary/Purpose:

Reporting to the Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region, the Specialist, Technical Support will assist new and existing customers in Asia Pacific with the incorporation of NDI’s 3D measurement systems into their particular applications.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve a broad range of technical problems related to the usage of NDI products in new or existing customer applications, ranging from simple to moderately complex in nature.
  • Provide technical product information and train customers and sales contacts.
  • Assist in the design of and perform product demonstrations at customer meetings and trade shows while acting as a technical representative.
  • Maintain thorough problem status and resolution records; e.g. draft trip reports, entries into Customer Relationship Management database, and logging of customer contact.
  • Provide support to NDI technical repair staff to assist in the resolution of product repair related issues.
  • Review customer Requests for Quotation (RFQ’s)
  • Review sales orders, loan agreements, and various sales related contracts
  • Resolve supply issues.
  • Translate various NDI generated technical documentation for the local market.
  • Act as the I.T. resource for the Asia Pacific office, liaising with NDI’s Canadian Head Office I.T. department.

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • University degree in a science or mathematics related field.
  • Strong mathematical background, problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
  • 3 – 5 years experience in technical support or service role preferred.
  • Experience with DOS, Windows and associated software.

Desired Characteristics/Additional Assets:

  • Biomedical engineering or Image Guided Surgery exposure would be an asset.
  • Programming experience in C and C++ an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin. Any other regional language skills would be a definite asset.
  • Experience working in the regional office of an international company would be an asset.
  • Willingness to travel.
