NDI Releases ToolBox 7 for
Optical and Electromagnetic
Tracking Development

By: Team NDI

NDI has released ToolBox 7, the latest version of its utility software package for NDI optical and electromagnetic tracking technologies. ToolBox 7 is available now for download from the NDI Customer Support Site.

ToolBox helps developers and OEM integration teams configure, troubleshoot, validate, and visualize positional data from NDI trackers without writing custom software first. Teams use it at every stage of development, from initial setup and evaluation through testing and troubleshooting.

What’s new in ToolBox 7

  • Modernized interface: An updated look and feel across ToolBox applications for a cleaner, more intuitive experience.
  • Enhanced 3D views: Customizable layouts let you set preferred viewing configurations when reviewing the tracking volume, markers, and sensors.
  • Sessions: Save and reload ToolBox settings and preferences, useful for repeat test setups and complex configurations.
  • Improved recording and playback: More efficient capture and review of tracking data for analysis and validation.
  • Enhanced Script IDE: Build, test, and validate API commands more efficiently.
  • Aurora Turbo mode: In-app support for Aurora Turbo mode, which allows for a higher tracking rate.
  • Support for planned NDI product releases.

Alongside the release of ToolBox 7, an updated C++ CAPI Sample is also available.
