NDI Releases Polaris IFC for On-Site Accuracy Checks and Correction

NDI has released Polaris IFC™ (In-Field Calibration), a portable tool that enables on-site accuracy verification and correction of the Polaris Lyra® Optical Tracker. Polaris IFC is available now through NDI, including an upgrade program for existing Accuracy Assessment Kit (AAK) users.
Due to cumulative use, mechanical impacts, and environmental factors experienced over time, even the most advanced Optical tracking systems experience natural accuracy drift. In image-guided OEM applications, maintaining Optical Tracker accuracy is essential to preserve performance reliability. Polaris IFC lets field service engineers verify Optical Tracker accuracy and, when needed, correct the tracker to restore its original accuracy specifications, whether on the manufacturing floor or in a clinical setting. This helps reduce downtime and prevent unnecessary Optical Tracker returns.
